“Before PowerStrength, I was inconsistent with working out and trying all kinds of at home programs for accountability. I didn’t feel like I put in the max effort because nobody could tell what I was doing or if I was doing the moves correctly. I felt stressed a lot and I didn’t feel myself. PowerStrength has helped me gain strength and lose 12 pounds. I have also loved meeting new people and making some really great friends. Being a school social worker/therapist, working out is a big component of being physically and mentally healthy. I have so much less stress, I sleep better, and I eat better. I have gained so much from training at PowerStrength physically, emotionally, and socially. It has challenged me to be the best version of myself. This in turn has impacted everything in a positive way from family, work, and overall health, and I couldn’t be more grateful.”– Carrie Y.
“I’m a 52-year-old lady who has been on a health and weight loss journey for the past 2.5 years. In August of 2022 my daughter asked me to be her fitness pal for one training session. She had encouraged me to join her but I felt I was too fat and out of shape. I thought, “Are you kidding me? You want me to lift weights?” What a joke.
I have a history of bilateral knee replacement with some limited mobility issues. I also have arthritis in my wrists and have had rotator cuff issues. Needless to say, hesitation and fear doesn’t begin to describe my reluctance to go. I had seen her body transformation and how great she felt. So, with much hand holding she talked me into a session with her personal trainer at PowerStrength and it went way better than I had ever expected.
The Coach was professional and an expert in his knowledge with all my limitations. He was patient with explaining and demonstrating the techniques with every exercise. He made me feel so comfortable. At the end of our first session, I felt like I did it! This is possible!
I still had a lot of anxiety about going to a group session with other people because I have never felt comfortable in a gym setting. I don’t want to be judged and frankly I have no idea what I’m doing. However, after working with the PowerStrength Coaches, I decided to sign up for a one-month trial membership. The first few weeks were hard because I had activated muscles I hadn’t used in years. Then slowly the soreness started to dissipate and I started to feel better and better. I feel stronger. My energy level has improved. Mentally, I feel more confident and my spirit is lighter.
I started to look forward to my work out sessions. Six months later I have a whole new outlook. I have lost 20 pounds. My mobility has improved. I go 3 days a week to the small group session and one day a week to personal training. I do it like it’s my job! It’s now a part of life.
I never in a million years thought I would enjoy going to a gym. But this isn’t a gym. This is a community with no judgment with people just like me trying to improve themselves. The coaches are the best people ever. They are so kind, encouraging and supportive. They have become my friends. I will forever be grateful to the staff for making me believe in me.” – Mimi V.
“At age 51, I had a hip replacement and became inactive due to my limitations. The normal gym environment was intimidating and I needed a place with a structured plan to safely rehabilitate my hip and help me to lose weight and gain strength. The PowerStrength Coaches personalized my program to my ability and goals and they truly care to know me as a person. After one year at PowerStrength, I lost 47 pounds and I went from wearing plus size clothing to size medium. I have gained strength, confidence, and I feel healthy again. Because of my progress, I was able to participate on a hiking trip with my family out west!” – Carolyne K.
“PowerStrength is a welcoming community and the coaches set a culture of positivity, deep knowledge, and the freedom to come as you are and work at the level which is best for you. The coaches are personable, professional, and have a passion for helping others live a strong and healthy life. They provide a balance of encouraging each of us and pushing us harder. They celebrate where we are, currently. This journey toward strength and health is new for me and PowerStrength makes it both fun and rewarding.” – Julie P.
“My experience at PowerStrength has been life-changing. For the first time in 25 years, I am exercising consistently and I truly enjoy the workouts. The coaches care and give attention to each member. I am excited to focus on my health and have the added benefit of being able to work out with my husband and get stronger together. Training at PowerStrength has improved my overall quality of life. I have more energy, I am more active, confident, healthier, and I get better sleep. I am also grateful for the friendships, comradery, and connectivity that happens at PowerStrength. It’s a special place. ” – Anna F.
“My experience at PowerStrength has been incredible! The coaches want to see me get stronger and give me the personal attention needed to push through so I can reach my goals. I LOVE the sense of community of the small training sessions, and the ability to build on the same exercises throughout the program. Since joining PowerStength, I’ve gained muscle, gotten stronger and feel better overall. PowerStrength has given me a sense of community, a way to relieve stress, and meet some great people! I look forward to continuing to see steady improvement in my training! ” – Jamie B.
“I love the encouragement of the staff at PowerStrength and how they adjust your workout if you are having pain or trouble doing something. I have never received the degree of encouragement that I get at PowerStrength at any facility I have worked out at. I do not mind working hard, but when it is noticed I am just like any other kid and like it when they point it out to me and say “Great Job” and actually mean it. They are not just words they say, they mean it and it means a lot to me to get that feedback. PowerStrength is a mix between a training facility and a family. The trainers care about you and are interested in not only your workout but your life.”– Ed B.
“Before PowerStrength, my training routine was non-existent. After six ankle surgeries, I felt lucky to just be able to play hockey once per week. But with my weight gain and lack of strength, I would be sore for days and skating was no longer fun. My experience at PowerStrength has simply been incredible. The trainers design workouts geared specifically to my needs and limitations. When I started, my shoulders and weight would not allow me to do one single push up and I can now throw down fifteen. My ankle and shoulder limitations have been minimized, and I can perform exercises that I did not think I would ever be able to do again. PowerStrength has given me the ability to play sports again and do it pain-free. I now love the way I feel playing hockey where I am no longer the “slow out-of-shape guy.” I leave the rink after skating harder than I did before PowerStrength and I feel great! I wake-up without soreness and I am more limber and flexible to play with my kids in a more enjoyable way. I feel better overall and have productive days without feeling that my weight and fitness level drag me down.” – Dan B.
“The trainers at PowerStrength are the best. They take time to explain exercises, and they are very knowledgeable and have the hearts of teachers. I feel they are good friends along with the people I work out with who are nice as well. The PSTS environment is very positive and encouraging. At first the workouts were extremely difficult because I was so out of shape. Now I feel MUCH healthier. I can walk up steps easier. Carry heavy items easily, stay on my feet longer without getting sore. My back pain is pretty much gone. I had horrible, almost crippling, pain in my knees. Now my knees have very little to no pain. I sleep better, I am more alert during the day, and I am working to get a little stronger every week. I feel good and am proud of my progress.” – John Becker
“Our family of four has been attending PowerStrength for two years and we have thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The equipment is high quality, the gym is clean and safe, and the class times are convenient. But what makes the PowerStrength experience different are the coaches. Simply put, the coaches are phenomenal! The coaches are trained professionals and do an outstanding job of building a strong culture and environment in which all participants can achieve their goals. We have noticed significant improvement in our family’s strength, flexibility, conditioning, and confidence. The PowerStrength experience is a daily routine for us and always starts our day in a positive manner.” – Dana & Brian K.
“Pre-covid I was attending another gym in the area and found the class sizes overwhelming. I felt like I wasn’t seeing improvement from the classes because I felt out of place and uncomfortable in the gym. Additionally at the end of 2020 into 2021 I had a few health scares that made me wake up and realize a change was needed. I know it sounds cliché but PSTS has been life changing for me. For the first time I truly feel like I belong and do not feel intimidated. I love the smaller session sizes and the focus from the trainers. One of my favorite things is each day when I walk in I am asked how I am feeling. The staff truly wants to know how we are feeling. Another close favorite is encouragement from the staff. All of them are great at this but one of the trainers regularly tells me “you are stronger than you think.” Repeatedly hearing this each time I train, especially in the beginning when I didn’t have belief in myself, pushed me. Knowing someone saw something in me I couldn’t see in myself gave me the drive to push harder and strive for better. I am most excited to set and reach goals I didn’t think possible in the beginning. I am excited to see how much I can lift and what I am truly capable of. Beyond the weight loss I have noticed my balance is getting better which was an initial concern. One thing I certainly did not see when I began PSTS was another bonding experience with my son who also trains with PSTS in the athlete program. We often talk about PSTS at home and have friendly jabbing at each other when one of us, mainly me, hits a new level of weights. He does not like to be outdone by mom.” -Emily K.
“Before coming to PowerStrength, I tried other gyms, walking and doing workouts at home, but nothing consistent. Despite trying to do well I never felt comfortable. In school I was always the kid “picked last” for teams. At PowerStrength I feel like the person everyone wants to be with you, and I feel welcome and sincerely cared about as an individual. Joining PowerStrength is one of the best investments I have made for my health. I have more energy and more confidence, and I feel like I have added years to my life. The coaches here are amazing! They are sincere in their interactions with members and are truly vested in our success!” – Shelly L.
“I have been on a roller coaster as far as weight loss and fitness for most of my adult life. Age and a knee replacement took its toll on me and I gained over 80 pounds and could not physically do much. I was constantly at the doctor’s office and receiving Physical Therapy for my back and knees. I felt helpless and handicapped for my age. At PSTS, I bonded with a group of ladies at one of the sessions and I felt like I wasn’t the only one going through the fitness hardship of knowing where to start. The coaches are all so knowledgeable and motivational which makes a huge difference. When I started at PowerStrength I could not do a majority of the activities that looked so easy for everyone else. I had to really work on my self-esteem and confidence to continue. What impresses me the most is knowing that the coaches take time to know who is coming to each session and they are aware of the different challenges that we all have. They take the time to personalize each workout for maximum benefits. I know that I can share with them my insecurities and they will not only work to get me past them, they will cheer me on for my effort. PSTS has created a community among everyone that attends, and that makes all the difference and makes them a step above all other fitness facilities. It took me 7 months and lots of encouragement but I can now get down on the floor and get back up again! I told the coaches that I wanted to be able to walk up a flight of stairs without a struggle. They didn’t laugh at me. They started programming more exercises that helped me achieve this goal. I still feel like crying when I walk up the stairs instead of taking an elevator. I have not had to have physical therapy since starting here. I’ve lost weight and dropped 4 pant sizes and that is just a bonus! Thank you to all the PSTS Coaches for being a positive change in my life!” – Pam P.
“Before joining PowerStrength, I was struggling to find a facility that was able to work with my injuries and would also challenge me. At PowerStrength, I love how the coaches are excited and encouraging! My trainer went out of his way to introduce himself on my first day. He took that extra step to make me feel welcome. They make sure I’m pushing myself and are right there when I need a modification. Everyone is friendly and I feel like I belong. I am regaining my strength and a healthy body again. Working out is both a mental and physical release of stress and tension for me. When I leave a PowerStrength session I feel amazing! I have more focus and sleep better.” – Barbara V.
“I was on an eight-year sabbatical from College athletics. I killed my body for four years on the Track and Field team so I thought I “deserved” some rest. Six months turned to two years, turned into eight years. I got lazy and ate whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. I was tired all the time and drank four energy drinks a day just to manage. I came to PowerStrength at age 31 with the lower back of an old man. The coaching staff was able to customize each training session around my injury and heal me over time. It’s only been one year and I have regained my mobility, and I feel stronger than I did in college. PowerStrength brought back my confidence in my health that allows me to play with my kids and be a fun dad – that is worth every dollar. There’s not another gym community out there like my PSTS family.” – Adam D.
“Prior to PSTS, I was attending a large workout group a couple times a week. I ended up leaving because I felt a lot of anxiety each time I attended a session and was not confident in the workouts I was doing. PowerStrength has truly been life changing. The coaches make it a priority to connect with each individual person and they truly care about your success. Working out kind of feels like therapy, it’s the best stress relief and you are getting healthy at the same time, while working out with amazing people. I’m excited to see how much stronger I become after each workout. It’s not just about physical strength, it’s also mental. I have found that working out has helped me have more energy, have a sense of achievement, and be proud of ME. After many years of believing the number I see on the scale defines how successful I’ve been at the gym, I now know and understand it’s so much more than that. I am now committed to making working out a fitness habit.” – Missy P.
“Before PSTS I was working out on my own at home and catching classes here and there. I have really enjoyed being on a schedule at PSTS. It has given me great accountability not only in showing up but also in challenging myself physically and mentally. The staff really listens and tailors your workout to just what you need. It’s definitely not a “one size fits all” mentality here and I love that. I am really excited to continue getting stronger and add more definition. I have noticed the older I get the harder it seems for me to build muscle. This new- not fun ballgame has really had me frustrated – my body just wasn’t responding the same way it used to. The encouragement and input from everyone here at PSTS, along with lifting heavy, has helped me to feel strong and like myself again. Even on days when I’m struggling – I always feel so much better after my workout and it keeps me moving in the right direction. The staff here and the challenges we do have really helped to keep me accountable in regards to keeping my nutrition dialed in and keeping me on track. I’m excited to be able to continue doing all the things I love and to be a part of PowerStrength.” – Tammy R.
“My experience at PowerStrength so far has been great! I was nervous starting at a new gym, but right from the start everyone was very friendly, encouraging and put me at ease. What I enjoy most about training at PowerStrength is the variety of each workout. You don’t get bored! Trainers get to know you right away, and not just your name, but also if you have any limitations. Each trainer is constantly watching everyone to make sure that they are doing the exercise correctly, and, in my case, they all remember my limitations and are constantly helping me.”– Sue R.
“We moved to the area in the fall of 2019 after retirement. I had a busy job and not much time for myself. After the move there were no training routines in place. I had never been involved in weight lifting. From the time of my consultation until present, PowerStrength has been a very positive move for me. The coaches are so encouraging and come up with exercise plans to fit your needs. The staff and fellow members are like a family. I enjoy the different events they have throughout the year and the programs change from month to month. My health has been relatively good, but I feel so much better both mentally and physically.” – Elaine R.
“Before PowerStrength I was at home trying to self-motivate. PowerStrength has been a great experience. I appreciate the genuine care the coaches have for the people. I’ve always felt like they were invested in helping make you the healthiest version of you. They pay attention to your wellbeing and make sure to connect with you. Not only to better understand and assist with your personal health goals, but also to know you better. This makes the entire experience more positive and creates a higher standard of personal accountability. You don’t blend in or hide in a big group, you are known and recognized in a good way. You don’t get guilt, you get encouragement. I am excited to continue my journey to become healthier, maintaining that healthiness, increasing my strength and flexibility. Having the PSTS coaches during this journey is a significant advantage to being successful. I have noticed I feel more positive about myself, I am stronger and more in tune with my body. It becomes a catalyst for making healthier choices in other areas of your life.” – Chris S.
“PowerStrength has been a game changer for me in my first 5 months. The culture is incredible and the true care for my personal goals is amazing. Each coach knows my strengths and weaknesses and helps work through the perfect program for me based on what I want to achieve. As I age it has become difficult for me to maintain my weight and muscle mass. The PowerStrength program helped kickstart a difference in my mind and body. The consistent training along with the guidance about diet, sleep, stress, and more is the total package. I feel more confident and stronger than I have in years. And the thing I love the most?? I look forward to working out again. The workouts are great and tough but the community keeps me coming back for more, I highly recommend trying PSTS. It isn’t intimidating…it is a welcome into a family that really focuses on what you need to help achieve your personal goals.” – Sara S.
“Before PowerStrength, I was on the couch. I really felt like my life was over. I couldn’t do anything that I wanted to do. PowerStrength has given me workouts that I’ve never done. It’s different from just going and doing curls and presses. It’s also a new network of friends. The overall positivity is super cool here. I feel like there is nothing I can’t do right now and at 60 that feels pretty damn good. Fatigue makes cowards out of all of us and that’s not in play as much as it used to be. Fatigue is not a factor when I do everyday things like my hobbies. I notice a big difference between me and my friends when doing simple things like picking up my golf balls or playing pickleball without pain.” – Jeff R.
“Before joining PowerStrength, I was in an unhealthy cycle of working too many hours, not exercising, and gaining weight by stress eating and eating late at night. I felt very unhealthy and unfit. My biggest challenge was finding the energy to exercise with all the hours I was working and it was hard because of my weight gain. PowerStength has amazed me from the start. After an initial meeting without pressure to join, I was very impressed that at my first session everyone knew my name and my goals which were to become stronger and improve endurance to be able to enjoy a hiking trip in the UP. The coaches at PS are very encouraging and motivating. I feel stronger and healthier and issues I had when walking are no longer here. And I was able to enjoy my hikes and kayaking in the beautiful UP. Training at PowerStrength has also improved my mental health! I am happier so my family is happy too! By committing to Power Strength two days a week, I balance work and life better and my anxiety is gone. Working out gives me a chance to clear my head and see things more clearly. I am more confident and this shows in all aspects of my life. I also want to say how great the staff is! I was really nervous about starting at PS because I was so out of shape and heavy, and the coaches were so supportive and kept me going. I really can’t say enough about them. They also modify and tailor exercises for your specific needs whether it be injuries or you’re not as fit as others in the session. Now that I feel stronger, I can focus on reaching a healthier weight.” – Linda D.
“I had not exercised regularly in probably 15 years since I quit running after having knee pain. I was experiencing back pain, knee pain, hip pain, and low energy, and it had become very difficult to exercise. I was nervous to begin training because I felt out of shape, but everyone has been so helpful and encouraging. I started with just the goal of not being in pain every day. I have accomplished that and have now set strength goals. I am losing body fat and building muscle. I have more energy, less pain, and I’m able to do things that I used to avoid due to my pain. My mood is better and I find it much easier to get outside and enjoy time with my family. My husband and I used to play tennis but after having so many issues I gave it up. Now we both look forward to playing this summer!” – Bethany M.
“I love going to PowerStrength! The coaching and positive encouraging atmosphere is the best . It helps me stay strong and positive- I like to go in the mornings as it just helps me set the tone for the day” – Wendy K.
“My experience at PowerStrength has been fantastic. I truly love the small, personalized classes. The improvements I have noticed since I started with PowerStrength are reduced pain in my feet, lower back and in my knees when going up and down stairs. When I had my initial consultation, they mentioned I would notice an improvement in my feet and I didn’t believe him as I have flat feet and have been dealing with various foot issues for over 30 years. I have also noticed improvement in my sleep as I have had fewer issues with restless legs while trying to get to sleep. This also means fewer doses of medication to settle my body for sleeping. I was excited when I reached my first Wall of Wins goal on my birthday last summer. I am a very competitive person, so I’m looking forward to setting my next Wall of Wins goal. Heck, that might even involve sit-ups.” – Allison H.
“Before I joined PowerStrength, I was mostly walking and doing some yoga. I wasn’t interested in joining a gym or working with a trainer because I have had some suboptimal experiences where I frequently left feeling completely drained or beat-up. Those trainers seemed to always want to push me to my absolute limit and to fit me into their program. I tried going on my own to workout facilities, but it is so easy to make excuses and to send my workout to the bottom of my TO DO list. When I did go, I found I was intimidated by the 20-something muscle guys who grunted and dropped their weights. Right off the bat, I could tell the PSTS coaches were NOT trying to fit me into their program like a square peg into a round hole. They actually listened to my concerns, and had knowledge and understanding of how the program could be made to fit me! I can definitely feel that I am already stronger since starting at PSTS. Simple activities like moving furniture, carrying groceries, walking up stairs are all easier. I no longer think “I wonder if I am strong enough to do that,” and I definitely feel confident enough to try things myself instead of relying on stronger members of my family.” – Laura G.
“PowerStrength is totally different from my previous gym membership. It is more like a personal training experience. There are people with physical limitations and the exercises are tailored to their abilities. The trainers make sure you are doing the exercises correctly to reach optimum results. I’ve learned about adding protein, drinking adequate water and cutting out sugar. I now look at food nutrition labels to see how much protein is included, not just calorie count. We joke about the “fun” exercises (which don’t feel fun at the time) but there are a lot of laughs. The ‘challenges’ are great for those that like to compete for fabulous prizes! As I age, I want to keep doing my favorite activities. Since joining PowerStrength, I have increased my muscle mass which my Doctor noticed at my last physical.”– Ann B.
“Before PowerStrength I let my busy work schedule take charge of my day. I wasn’t as focused on my health and I wasn’t happy about that. I knew I needed to find a place that was a good match for my needs. I needed motivation to keep me interested and to be held accountable to help me get out of my own head. The coaches at PowerStrength are encouraging and friendly. The challenges are motivating and effective in breaking bad habits and improving health in a way that is easy to accomplish. Since joining PSTS, I have been able to build muscle and burn fat. Overall, I feel stronger and more confident, and my lower back pain has improved.” – Michelle A.
“I LOVE PowerStrength! The environment is phenomenal. The trainer’s knowledge of strength, mobility and ways to motivate you to be the best version of yourself is unmatched. Before PSTS I did not have a regular fitness routine. I was hardly mobile, had zero energy, was stressed, irritated and needed something to change. As I grew stronger the workout intensity continued to increase and that made me want to keep pushing the limits to see what I could do next. I’ve increased my skating speed, I have greater stability and agility on the ice, I’m scoring goals, and I can now throw and stack 80 lb hay bales. It is great to not only bring my sports performance to a new level but also accomplish those everyday tasks which I couldn’t do before. It’s been a long journey but a rewarding one and definitely worth the investment in my health and happiness. I am looking forward to pushing through new challenges, setting the bar higher after each accomplishment. PSTS helps you do this by providing the core structure and promoting an inclusive environment where you are your authentic self. You immediately feel like part of an amazing tribe.” – Michelle L.
“We started this journey with PowerStrength exactly 1 year ago. We both have tried numerous ways over the years to focus on our health and weight without much success.
A friend suggested we should talk with PowerStrength, as they loved their approach and focus that develops a plan specific to each person individually. After initially sitting down with them and understanding our goals, they developed a plan and it was time to go to work. All the coaches are awesome, and their energy and enthusiasm are great! They continue to motivate and challenge us in different ways and hold us accountable. We truly enjoy the atmosphere with the other adults, as everyone’s journey is a little different. PowerStrength has changed our mindset from losing weight, to living a healthier life. It was perfect timing for us and we could not be happier.” – Jason & Carmen N.
“I started PowerStrength late October 2021 and haven’t looked back. Between the coaches, facility, and other PS members, I’ve found my place. My goals continue to change as I get stronger, and the coaches push me to keep raising the bar. I’m in my mid-forties and feel stronger than I have in years. The gains I’ve made have been awesome and I know I can continue this journey with the help of the team. PowerStrength is a way of life for me now and I know I can count on the team to hold me accountable.” – Amy O.
“Before PowerStrength, I never participated in any gym or workout routine. I tried to stay active by doing things like trail bike riding, walking, backpacking, kayaking and paddle boarding. I finally had to get serious about the fact that when you turn 64 years old you either “use it or you lose it.” I knew I needed some coaching and structure for that. I also have dealt with MS for over 15 years and one of the best things I can do to manage it, is to maintain healthy practices. I train in three PowerStrength sessions per week and since joining, I’ve trimmed off 20 pounds of body fat and improved my muscle mass! I credit the continuity of the coaching, including nutrition, lifestyle balance, and the encouraging PowerStrength community. For me, all of this has instilled more discipline and accountability toward my overall health. I feel so much better mentally, physically, and spiritually since starting my journey at PowerStrength.” – Dave S.
“I came into PowerStrength unsure and thinking I can’t do this, I’m not strong like everyone here, it’s going to be intimidating BUT everyone has made it so welcoming and not like that at all. PSTS has taught me to be patient, consistent, and that the work will pay off. I’m amazed by the results! I am very grateful and proud of myself for my milestones I have accomplished so far! Since I have been training at PSTS, I have more energy, I sleep better, and I feel better about myself. I’ve never been prouder to look at the “before” pictures than I am now. PSTS has helped me break through my plateau and has challenged me to be better.
Thank you for turning my “can’ts” into “cans.” You’ve pushed me further than I thought I could go and shown me that I can reach my physical goals. Training with you has benefited my perspective in other areas of my life and I feel more empowered than ever before. Thank you for transforming me, for not letting me quit when I wanted to, or go easy when I was tired. You believe in me more than I believe in myself. Thank you ALL for challenging me and pushing me just a bit further every time. I am achieving more than I thought was possible.” -Elizabeth W.
“I am 43-years old and in better shape and in less pain than I was 25-years ago, and it is all thanks to 1-on-1 personal training and FST at PSTS. I used to believe… that pain was going to continue to be a part of my life because it was just a part of the aging process… until I started personal training and realized the pain I had endured for decades was reversible. Now, after I participate, I do not have the body aches and pains and I am moving more fluidly. I am able to do household chores with more energy because pain is not at the cornerstone of everything I do. To those adults who are experiencing chronic pain, specific dysfunction from injury or any other symptom that is being blamed on age and you think this is just because you are “old” and there is nothing to be done, please consider that your mindset is wrong. I am so grateful for the work that has been done for me and I am looking forward to making more gains, as I still have gains to make. Sure, 1-on-1 personal training is an investment in yourself, but it is invaluable. If you can hardly imagine your life without pain and you are willing to spend the time to teach your body how to move appropriately, I think you would be a great candidate for personal training. I cannot imagine anyone ever regretting the process. I only wish I had started it sooner.” – Erin L.
“Before I joined PSTS, I did not have a regular workout strategy. I tried to workout to kick-boxing and other videos, but found it difficult to be motivated. I make at least 3 workouts a week at PSTS. I love that the workouts are different every time I go and I am building strength during the sessions. The coaches make sure I’m doing each exercise with correct form and provide adaptations for just the right challenge. I look forward to each workout because everyone is so friendly and encouraging- it feels like family. Working out has become part of my life and I feel SO much better! My energy level, mood, and focus have greatly improved with regular workouts. I have worked out at other health clubs, but PSTS is not like any other. The knowledgeable staff makes sure each of us is getting the most out of each hour we spend investing in our health.” – Cathy A.
“Since day one, PSTS has changed the way I work out and the way I feel about myself and others. Not only are their workouts second to none, but they also teach you how to grow mentally…which is just as important. If you don’t feel good about yourself, then nothing else is going to matter. My self-confidence has changed as well as my physical appearance and it is all thanks to PowerStrength! The people that work out there are pretty awesome as well. Everyone makes you feel like you’re part of the PowerStrength Family.” – Dustin H.
“I am able to sleep through the night again! Not to mention I feel like I have an entirely new wardrobe of clothes and didn’t have to buy them again, they were already in the closet! PSTS is better than any gym or crossfit I’ve ever spent money on in the past. Joining PSTS is an investment in my health…physically and mentally. The level of support and encouragement from not only the trainers, but from the other members as well is remarkable.” – Joe F.
“I started at PowerStrength in October of 2013. Prior to this, I had no other real workout experience. I tried doing things on my own, but that never went anywhere. I was not feeling good and needed a change. PowerStrength was life-changing. I gained more energy, started sleeping better, and my stress level went down. Over the years I have also been hampered by back and knee pain. The trainers have developed exercises that have helped ease my pains and strengthen those areas at the same time.”
“My goal going forward would be to make it a full year with no interruptions. I’d like to build upon what I gained in the last 30 days. I have no doubt that the coaches will continue to push me and encourage me.” ~ Jim R.
“Before PowerStrength, I wasn’t working out at a fitness club. I walked some and swam maybe once a week, and even that wasn’t consistent. I was tired all the time and my energy level was low and I was also finding my job as a nurse getting harder to do and keep up. It was time for a change. I just haven’t been aging well. I am 57 and knew I had to start making myself a priority.”
“My experience at PowerStrength has been unbelievable! The first class I showed up for, I was already inspired by the signs on the doors into the gym. “You just did the hard part, we will take it from here!” Every coach I have had since starting 30 days ago has been phenomenal! I have never experienced a gym where all of the employees are on the same page and dedicated to my well-being! They kept encouraging, correcting form, teaching me safe ways to lift weights and move, and believing I could do it when I didn’t think I could! They are honestly so vested in every person’s success who walks through their doors! I am SO grateful for that! Without it, I would have given up, like many other gyms. It’s the accountability that makes it SO successful!”
“One of the most powerful tools I learned and needed, was the nutrition guidance. I read all of the information they gave me and learned a lot about what foods fuel my body the best. I have used food for way too long for comfort, and not the right foods. The information they provided daily made me focus so much more on what and why I was eating.”
“Being in the gym with the coaches has also been powerful! They are always eager to help adjust an exercise and work with me, improving my form or modifying exercises with whatever I am doing in the gym. Such attention to every person in the session is what makes this gym stand out from many others I have gone to and it truly works!! They have my, and everyone’s, best interests at heart and are just so positive! I can’t say that enough!“
“Going forward, since my first 30 days were such a positive experience, I am excited to see each month, how much my body will continue to change. I look forward to gaining more muscle and strength, flexibility, and feeling so much better emotionally too!” ~ Cheryl S.
“Before joining PowerStrength, I guess I could’ve been called a “stereotype.” The mom who always put kids, husband, and even pets before myself. Always the gal to say yes to everyone but me! Well the kids are grown, so that excuse doesn’t work anymore! Earlier this year I decided to make some lifestyle changes. First, I changed my eating habits, but soon realized that alone isn’t enough.
I FINALLY convinced myself that it was time to add fitness and exercise into the mix. The entire atmosphere at PowerStrength is different from anything I’ve ever experienced! The coaches are totally into helping you do and be your best; regardless of fitness level. The people I’ve met here are just fantastic…everyone is so encouraging, positive, and upbeat…makes it impossible to have a bad day at the gym! I’ve dropped pounds, clothing sizes, and gained muscle these past few months, and am excited to see where I go from here! When I started back in March, I told someone I hated working out and didn’t think I’d ever enjoy it…I saw it as a necessary evil. Now I can say that I was wrong about that and I happily will eat those words all thanks to the people I’ve met at PowerStrength Training Systems.” – Lisa V.
“At PSTS, from DAY 1, I knew I was in the right place. They accommodated and started me from EXACTLY where I was at physically. They encouraged me to get it done and push through some tough workouts. The extra time the coaches take to make sure your moving correctly, eating correctly and pushing yourself to reach goals is above and beyond anything I’ve seen!
Let’s not forget the awesome people I’ve met working toward the same goals as myself, encouraging each other through every workout. Love my PSTS family. I’ve been at PSTS since May 2019, and the difference isso much more than the scale (weight). I can see the results the strength I have gained, the energy I have back and the results I’m getting in improved body composition, not to mention the mental clarity at work! It’s easier to get out of bed, my physical limitations are depleting, clothes are fitting better, and I’m gaining endurance just in time for hunting season! Thank you PSTS. I know it’s a long road but I’m doing this for ME and MY HEALTH because I deserve it.” – Connie D.
“Before PowerStrength, I was mentally and physically defeated. I struggled with chronic lower back pain due to 4 c-sections, a sedative career and exhaustion from poor diet and lack of exercise. I would walk 3-4 times per week, but nothing to challenge my body with professional training due to fear of “not being strong enough”.
PowerStrength is empowering! I have always been strong, but not like I am now. I have developed mental and physical confidence, endurance, body awareness and push myself in ways I thought I could NEVER achieve. I look forward to seeing my new found friends at the gym and know that I will be encouraged to push myself to be the best version of myself for that workout.
I have developed healthy lifestyle habits. I can not NOT go to the gym. I walk stairs and am not winded, I can sustain physical activity with more ease and comfort. I am mindful of how I fuel my body from hydration to foods. I am learning about my body and how to activate and target muscles that will strengthen and assist with aging, sitting all day as well as strengthening and flexibility. I have more energy and stamina to be the best version of myself!” – Kelly G.
“What I love the most is the intensity and variety of the sessions – I would never have been able to do all this on my own. I feel stronger and can already see a difference in my soccer playing. The most helpful part of PSTS is having a coach that is conscious of problem areas, and helps me work through them. I was worried about my knee coming in and have had minimal issues with it. I can’t believe how far I have come in 6 weeks and I’m looking forward to where I will be in 6 more. My favorite part of PSTS is the personalized attention from the coaches and the fact that you can feel their desire for you to succeed as much as you want yourself to succeed.” -Alyssa R.
“Before PowerStrength I was working out sporadically. I was doing some cardio, minimal weight training, and occasional yoga, but nothing consistent. I was in pain quite frequently with plantar fasciitis, hip pain, and back pain from sitting at an office desk and through meetings. I wasn’t getting the physical activity in my life the I needed. I came to PowerStrength looking for someone to motivate me, and hold me accountable.
My experience at PowerStrength has been so positive! I feel very encouraged, pushed harder than I would push myself, but never past my limits. I feel very encouraged by the coaches, by the other adult clients, and they have become my friends. It’s been such a positive, great experience. I don’t want to miss because the coaches know that I’m not here, and ask where I was. I feel like they know me, and expect me to be here, and are happy to see me when I arrive! Their encouragement makes me want to come even on days when it might be hard to make myself go train.
The impact of PowerStrength has shown up in many different ways in my life. I am pain free, with the exception of that ‘good sore’ from pushing myself in the gym. My plantar fasciitis and back pain has virtually disappeared. I’m now strong mentally and physically. I can take on the world because I have been challenged, and I know now that I can rise to the occasion. PowerStrength has given me a lot of mental toughness and physical strength.”
– Beth M.
“Before I started at PowerStrength I was training by myself and making just ‘ok’ progress. Now I’m on a more consistent training program that keeps me coming back. That’s due to the coaches, since they all care and keep me accountable.
My experience so far has been great! The other members in the adult program, coupled with great coaches is just outstanding.
PowerStrength has definitely helped improve with my overall health. I’ve had such a positive experience that now I tell others about PowerStrength, and try to get them to join. I want them to experience what I’ve experienced!” – Michael C.
“Before PSTS I was trying to get in shape in my basement with workout DVD sets, and I was running long distances. I had a hard time adding muscle and was struggling to stay toned.
My experience at PSTS has been a blast so far! I’ve push myself physically, and it only motivates me to go up in some of my lifts. Now I don’t necessary look at the scale as much. I’m more focused on how I feel, and get to track my progress at PowerStrength with their InBody.
I’m not nearly as tired when I go into work, I sleep better, and I’m more aware of what I eat. PSTS has guided me to make smarter decisions.” – Matt F.
“Thank you for all the encouragement you and your team have provided during my family’s time with PSTS. It’s been an amazing experience and I’m so glad my son encouraged me to start. Carson has been doing Little Beast and Speed and Agility training since March of this year. He absolutely loves the physical challenge the coaches puts into each program while making it fun at the same time. Seeing his excitement every week, I decided to start thinking about my own health and well-being (which has been idle for quite some time). It didn’t take long for me to realize that I should be doing something better for myself and so… my journey at PSTS began.
The training and development is going great thus far. My evening classes take place the same time as my son’s training and so our time at the gym is something we share together. Carson keeps a pretty good eye on me through my sessions and he’ll come up to me during one of his water breaks with a high-five after I’ve finished a series of sled pulls or even a “You can do it Mom,” when I’m working through some upper body strength training. He is truly my inspiration and motivator through this process! The PSTS team is extremely encouraging and supportive as well. It didn’t take me long to realize that they not only strengthen us physically, but also mentally. As the trainings continue to get harder, somedays I find myself in a state of “mind over matter” just to get through the exercises. The PSTS teams’ constant encouragement and ability to keep me focused on what I’m doing is so essential to me.
In a nutshell, I’m loving my experience with PSTS! Thank you again to you and your team for all you’ve done and continue to do to educate, train, and bring a level of wellness to people in our communities. – Stacy B.
“My experience at PowerStrength has been extremely positive. I’m the type of person who wants to do something right, so I like someone watching and coaching my technique. That way I know I’m getting the most out of my exercises. I might not be the fastest, but that doesn’t matter because all the coaches make sure I’m doing it correctly, and to me that’s important.
PowerStrength has made a positive impact in my life. I enjoy coming here, I look forward to coming here, and sometimes find myself upset when something pops up and I can’t make it. It’s just been awesome. I love it!” – Ann K.
“I have not worked out with any consistency in the past 17 years. I had tried several diets and lost weight quickly, but weight loss never stuck and I would return to bad habits.
When My Wife, Ann, and I started at PSTS I was the heaviest I have ever been. I was concerned I would not be able to do this type of training, not only because of how out of shape I was, but I also have rheumatoid arthritis.
By the end of the two week trial, I really liked the way I felt!
Now, Ann and I have just finished our third full month and we love what PSTS has done for us. I AM ABLE TO DO THINGS I WAS NOT ABLE TO DO WHEN I FIRST STARTED.”
– Rick K.
“My name is Teresa Dewey, and I just completed the 2-Week Jumpstart program at PSTS. This program is awesome, as I have been challenged in my workouts and have DROPPED 3% OF MY BODY FAT while INCREASING MY MUSCLE MASS. The coaches are great and I would highly recommend PSTS. They have given me a new outlook on training, I have now seen what I’m capable of. Thank you PowerStrength!” – Teresa D.
“Before joining PowerStrength I used to go to the ‘24 hour gyms’, but I never saw the results I wanted. I joined the PowerStrength Men’s Transformation Challenge in January and started seeing immediate results due to the coaching, varied workouts, and nutritional guidance. The support, accountability, energy, and competitive spirit of the staff make the workouts challenging, yet enjoyable.”
– Ben B. (Transformation Challenge Winner)
“What I love the most is the intensity and variety of the sessions – I would never have been able to do all this on my own. I feel stronger and can already see a difference in my soccer playing.
The most helpful part of PSTS is having a coach that is conscious of problem areas and helps me works through them. I was initially worried about my knee, but I have had minimal issues with it.
I can’t believe how far I have come in 6 weeks and I’m looking forward to where I will be in 6 more. My favorite part of PSTS is the personalized attention from the coaches, and the fact that you can feel their desire for you to succeed as much as you want yourself to succeed.” -Alyssa R.
“I workout, not because I hate my body, but because I respect it, and I’m proud of what it can do. I feel strong, in and out of the gym. I love the community of empowering people who celebrate my successes and encourage me to surpass even my own expectations. As a mother of three, I have plenty of to-do lists and worries – planning workouts and guilt about fitness has no room in my life. I love that I just pick a scheduled workout, show up, and the rest is planned out for me. For that hour I can sweat out my day, compete against myself, turn off the rest of my life while laughing with friends who have become family. It’s easy as a mother to neglect myself, but that is unsustainable long term.” – Ashley D.
“I am 59 (soon to be 60 in February) and work full time as a business attorney. I travel some and my schedule is erratic. I joined PSTS in August with my wife, and we try to make at least one Thrive Small Group class and 2-3 Blue Collar Large Group classes a week. I am also an avid tennis player and very amateur golfer.
A few weeks ago I visited my general practitioner for follow-up bloodwork review. To his and my pleasant surprise, ALL of my numbers (including blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol) as well as my vitamin and mineral levels, were ALL improved over my May physical.
I attribute this to my wife Lori who keeps me very much in line on the nutrition front, but also to the training I have been doing at PSTS the last two months.
In addition, my tennis game/court movement/stamina is substantially better since starting PSTS. As far as golf – my short game still needs work – but I feel great out on the course. I am very pleased with the PSTS program, staff, team members and results!” – Pat S.
“I have lost a total of 35 pounds over the last 14 months by focusing on my nutrition, training regularly and finally getting my hormones balanced.
Once I started seeing the results, it motivated me to keep going in order to achieve my goals.
Since I travel a lot for work, one of my main challenges has been sticking to my healthy habits when on the road. I make it a priority to stretch and keep moving, and try my best to make healthy nutrition choices when I can. PowerStrength has given me the tools to make what seemed impossible a reality. The team is always encouraging, continuously offering guidance and there to help wherever needed.
The coaches at PSTS hold me accountable (to show up to my training sessions), push me to do things I didn’t think I could do, and create a positive, and supportive environment where everyone can thrive. I couldn’t have done it without them.”
“It was my husband who encouraged me to look at the new place near my work called PowerStrength. When I questioned the time and expense, he responded wholeheartedly that my fitness and health are important to our family.Busy with work and family, I was finding myself doing a lot more WATCHING or DRIVING to/from sporting events, than DOING any workouts. I was busy… busy putting everyone else ahead of myself. Being able to do things like push-ups has taken a steady climb up in fitness. I committed to working out weekly and I feel so much healthier in mind, body, and spirit. Often I approach new things thinking, “I can’t do that”. At PowerStrength, I have done so many things that I never thought I would or could do, I just had to try…. and have the right coaching and encouragement, from home and at the gym. I feel so lucky to have both!” – Sam B.
“I signed up for the women’s challenge in hopes to kickstart a sustainable change in myself. Yes, this body has done amazing things over the last 2 years, but I had lost my self-confidence and found myself at my heaviest. In four short weeks, I’ve not only seen measurable results faster than ever but more importantly, I discovered I was stronger than I could have ever imagined.” – Ashley U.
“PSTS is by far the best gym I have ever been a part of. The camaraderie, the accountably with each other. The drive and support from everyone who wants to see you succeed, the coaching, and the work. Its more than just a gym. It’s like a second family. It’s not any one thing, it’s everything, It’s a lifestyle. It’s Do What Matters. It’s Strong Lives Here. It’s PSTS. And I’m proud to be a part of it.” – Brad H.
“My goal was to lose 24 pounds in 2017. In my mind, I had 12 months to accomplish my goal so I broke my goal down into 2 pounds per month. Now my goal was manageable, but what happen next I could have never imagined. In January, I lost 12 pounds, February came and I lost 9 pounds, and month after month I saw weight coming off and muscle being built. As of today, I am 47 total pounds down from where I started on January 1, 2017. What was amazing to me was that the changes were simple, but the results were profound. With the support and encouragement of my wife who walked with me every step of the way and my Power Strength family I smashed my goal! – Brandon D.
“I started with PSTS with a 4-week trial of the Blue Collar program in the spring of 2017 and I have been hooked ever since. It is the most effective system I have tried. The small class size format sets PSTS apart from the rest of the adult programs in the area and is a huge advantage because of the 1-on-1 attention you receive from the coaches. The format allows them to tailor their guidance to your specific training needs which enables them to push you to achieve the next level, suggest alternate exercises if you are working through an injury, and provide nutritional guidance to support your specific training goals. They are personally invested in your success, they celebrate these successes and because of this PSTS continues to build a great community. I have lost 20 lbs., but I more importantly I have gained endurance, strength, confidence and improved health.” -Michelle L.
“I came to PSTS looking for a kick start towards living a healthier life and in just one month I got that and a whole lot more. For the first time in my life I had someone coaching me through the process with nutritional advice, varied workouts, and goal setting. The environment at PS can only be described as welcoming which leads to the family like structure that exists. I am proud of what I have accomplished in this month and look forward to what the months ahead may bring.” – Bill K.
“Since joining PSTS, I’ve seen so many changes in myself that I hadn’t expected to see. I am not only losing fat, I am becoming so much stronger than I thought I would be. I have more energy each day and I even sleep better at night. I am also a person that struggles with anxiety, and since joining PSTS I have seen a huge change in myself with less anxiety attacks. The best part about PSTS is the people. Each time I go in for a workout, I am surrounded by positivity. PSTS members and employees are not there to be better than those around them, but to better themselves. Seeing this positivity in each person makes it an easy place to accomplish goals, because I know that I will be surrounded by people to celebrate these goals, and that will encourage continuous healthy behavior.” -Tara K.
“THANK YOU for being amazing coaches and an inspiration to me the last month! I loved all the nutrition advice and ideas gained through the month too! The weekly meetings kept me accountable for what I was actually doing each week and kept me believing that I was indeed making progress! With the final weigh in and measurements, I can say I went home that day ELATED and with what I’m guessing a natural high with the news of the inches (5.5 WOW!!) lost throughout my body. It has been a hard thing to change my mind shift from worrying about the scale. All I know is, I feel great! I feel empowered! And I believe that with the great support you all provide here I am capable of change and transforming myself! Mission accomplished from my standpoint!” – Sandy G.
“After my first day, I knew there was no other gym for me.”
“My whole life I have been an active person up until becoming a mother in December of 2012. It was then when I starting putting my health and body second. I had tried several chain gyms with no results. It was hard to stay motivated to keep going. My diet consisted of anything quick and easy and I found myself gaining weight. In October of 2016 I was introduced to PowerStrength’s JumpStart Program. It was then I decided I could do anything for a few weeks, so I signed up. For three weeks I found myself surrounded by the most helpful trainers and the workout groups were beyond supportive. I loved showing up to a sessions and being guided on what to do each day and instructed how to do it correctly. After completing the JumpStart Program I managed to lose 15 lbs and gained so much more knowledge of a balanced diet and workout plan! A balance I had been missing! After my first day I knew there was no other gym for me. I signed up that day and I haven’t looked back. Less than a year into my commitment I am down 30lbs. Beyond the weight lose I feel more energized and confident. The friendships and the atmosphere at PS is something I will never walk away from.”- Raelyn L.
I started at PowerStrength nearly 2 years ago on a trial package. As a older mom who has 2 girls who worked out at PowerStrength during their college soccer careers, I had it in my head that there was no way I could do this. Boy was I wrong!!!! From day one there was no way I was going to fail between the other people in the class and their constant motivation, or the trainers with their always positive attitudes and constant help with technique and reminders of how to keep going strong. All I can say is it is hard work but the feeling you get when you finish a constant changing workout is amazing! I can honestly say this is one of my HAPPY places! The trainers are AMAZING, the other athletes are just as AMAZING and we all have a really good time Getting it done! My body composition has improved, but more importantly I can tell you I feel 100 times better than I did when I started! I feel I stand up taller and more confident than I ever did before. Give it a try!!! PSTS ROCKS!!!! – Michelle V.
“I am a 58 year old woman who has been a member of the Power Strength family for about 8 months. Initially, I was apprehensive, intimidated and wondered if I would be able to keep up. My concerns were quickly put to rest! From my first visit I felt very welcomed and within a short time felt like I was part of a team, one of “the group”.
Both the members and trainers couldn’t be more encouraging, motivating and knowledgeable. The trainers are always available to answer questions regarding correct form and nutrition or offer suggestions to work around any physical discomfort or injury. Regardless of your age, strength or fitness level everyone feels like they belong here and is treated equally and each goal and accomplishment is recognized and celebrated!
Thank you Power Strength for your daily motivation and “words of wisdom”. Now I really look forward to my workouts and my time with new friends.” -Karen O.
“I am a mother, wife and full-time teacher, and I decided to make a change in my everyday routine. It seemed like I always felt tired. I was tired of the lifestyle habits that I had developed over the years and wanted a change. I decided to start my JumpStart, and haven’t looked back. After 4 weeks of training twice a week and developing better eating habits, I’ve lost 6 pounds of fat and gained 2 pounds of muscle! My clothes fit better, and I can tell I have more energy throughout my day! Now, I am months into my time here at PowerStrength and I love every minute of it. I am accepted, encouraged and challenged every time I walk in the doors.” –Helen V.
I love going to PowerStrength because of the family feel it has! We are like a team. We encourage each other and enjoy each other’s company while spending just one hour together during our workouts (and even that’s not enough, we like to meet outside of our workouts for team dinners). We have the best personal trainers who love to cheer us on and provide awesome nutrition tips. They do an incredible job optimizing our workouts. Anyone looking to find a home gym to encourage a fit and healthy lifestyle, I would recommend PowerStrength! – Lauren D.
“A few months ago I was at a point in my life where I wasn’t feeling good. Not enough physical energy to do anything after work and mentally drained as well. I almost believe that I had to have had some type of illness! Then one day I got the info about the PSTS Blue Collar program and with the encouragement from my wife, decided to give it a try. The first day was brutally tough. But just 6 weeks later I was down from 216 pounds to 200 pounds and simply feeling amazing. All I needed was what PSTS has provided me.
They provided me with a training program that fit my body and my age. I had back surgery a few years ago and was a little nervous about how it would hold up. The coaches at PSTS had me progress safely, and my back feels great and I have no limitations! They also provided me with nutritional guidelines to go along with my program which had just as big of benefits as the training! Physically I feel amazing – mentally I feel amazing. I feel the best I’ve felt in a long time. I tell everyone what I went through and they’re intrigued. PSTS is great for anyone of any age.” – Jim R.
I started training at Power Strength shortly after my 30th birthday with the adult group. I am not very athletic and have no coordination so I was a bit apprehensive. My worries were erased instantly. The trainers are top notch. They are able to assist any skill level and do a great job at keeping things positive and motivating. It’s been almost 2 years now and I can say that I have seen a huge improvement with my strength and posture (my 2 main goals). I would recommend this place to any skill level. It’s a great workout and odds are you will make a few friends along the way…I know I have 🙂 – Carly B.
I started at PSTS the week of my golden birthday. Before that I was feeling like I was on the wrong side of 25 and that my metabolism was decreasing quickly, I knew I wanted to get myself more active. I am a coach’s daughter and have gone through multiple different time periods of heavy training… So I “know” how to do it. However and all of a sudden, I found myself struggling to maintain and really just feel good let alone strong. I joined a “traditional” gym. BORING. Plus there was no one keeping me accountable. I came to my first day at PSTS and fell in love… At first with the unique training program and the trainer/trainee interaction and soon thereafter, the people- the PSTS family 🙂 I won’t leave this group. I am just as committed to them as I know they are to me. And that’s special. – Nicole S.
PSTS has been a GODSEND for our family. We have watched our son transform into a more athletic, strong and confident young man who is now fulfilling his dream of playing Lacrosse at the next level. My husband and I are very appreciative to Mark and team for putting together an adult program as well. As a couple of the oldest adults who train at PSTS, we are always made to feel like a part of the family. We are pushed in order to reach our goals and to give everything we have through each and every workout. Absolutely blessed to be a part of this amazing place with some of the greatest coaches / athletes. Love it! – Kandi F.
I’ve training at PowerStrength for the past 5 years. First as a member of the college football group, and now as a member of the blue collar group. I cannot say enough about the staff, they truly care about every member and will go above and beyond to support your needs. They keep you motivated everyday and help you accomplish all of your health and fitness goals. They do an awesome job of welcoming new members into their groups, making it more of a family atmosphere than any other gym in the area. They dedicate hours researching new workouts to keep things fresh and personalized for each group. Whatever age you are, you will have an awesome experience, and will meet some amazing people along the way. I highly recommend anyone looking to change their lifestyle to check this place out. You will not regret it! – Dan P.
Been to many a gym, some good some not so much. PSTS offers a culture and knowledge base to training that is unmatched in my opinion. If you take your training, or your new training goals seriously and want a true team culture that will educate and train you- PSTS is the rock solid choice. – Dean R.
After my first 60 days with PowerStrength I have noticed incredible results! I’d recommend this to any athlete (current or former) or regular joe. It’s not for the faint of heart but it is for anyone who wants to get the best workout in Grand Rapids! As a side bonus I got to work out with some friends and meet new people as well. Their trainers are experts and as you can see all over their walls they have “fruit on the tree” with training ALL types of athletes and helping them advance to the next level, up their game or just want more Power & Strength in their life! – Mike Z.
I started working out at PowerStrength in November and wouldn’t trade my time there for time at any other gym. The results speak for themselves, and the trainers do a great job giving personal attention to each and every person. The atmosphere is also a huge plus, as everyone is willing to tell you good job, and offer encouragements during workouts. – Jonathan K.
I was an athlete in college and after graduating pretty much stopped all forms of exercise. I started running a few years back but wanted to get back in to lifting. It had been so long since I had used weights and the thought of going to a gym terrified me. I wanted a gym that offered instruction on proper form. That’s what I got at PowerStrength. The trainers do a great job at correcting your form if you’re not doing something right. The amount of attention they give to each person gives the feel of having a personal trainer. The group structure keeps it fun and all the ladies are super encouraging! – Dani K.
“Getting results is always the assumed outcome, but it’s the worth you find in yourself that stands out. You get guys around you, who come from different backgrounds and push you to be better, not only physically, but also in every aspect of your life. You can’t find that at any facility, it takes a special group, a unique attitude to really get you hungry to work your ass off every time you walk in. That’s the difference that you can’t measure.
The wealth of knowledge these guys have is so ahead of the curve you know you are a part of something very special. The atmosphere of the gym is unlike anything you’ve been a part of. You become a family, and that family pushes you beyond what you think is possible.
Having the more personal experience in a gym is so hard to beat. You come in and everyone is on your team. Everyone wants to see you succeed and do well, not because they make money doing it, but they care. That’s the difference these guys put everything into making sure you are at your best. That motivation drives you to reach goals you didn’t think were within reach.
You don’t have to be a high level athlete to get results from a facility like this. It’s about being better than when you walked in. Not everyone is striving to be an NFL player, but we all have a common goal of being at our optimal health and performance. This place is truly special; it’s an atmosphere you can’t get anywhere else.” – Lucas B.
“My first impression of PSTS was that it was intimidating. I didn’t know what to expect. I was just looking to gain some muscle and continue to lose fat. Over a year later and PSTS has helped solidify my transformation and has me doing things I’ve never done before. Overall I’m down from 385lbs to 240!
What separates PSTS is the whole mentality. Not to have a weak attitude, not making excuses. Everyone here is real close and they help you achieve your goals. It’s a great family atmosphere to get better. Everything done at PSTS is spot on!
I would recommend PSTS to anyone out there. It doesn’t matter what age you are, 19 or 50. You just need to come here with the right attitude and work hard.” – Dylan D.
“I came to PSTS for a switch up in my workout routine. The switch was great. The atmosphere is great, the trainers and people are great, the workout routine is new, fun, and gets great results.
You go to other gyms and you do a little of this and that by yourself with no real goal in mind. You come to PSTS and your working with a team of educated trainers and other serious individuals with the same goal in mind. Everyone in here is working for something. I walked out of PSTS with much more strength and endurance. I can see a lot of results. I would recommend PSTS to anyone.
I was a high school, collegiate, and semi-pro athlete. If I found out about PSTS when I was that age, I would have been here all of the time. The stuff they work on- explosiveness, agility… they not only help you to get stronger, but also increase your overall athleticism to become a better athlete. It would be extremely beneficial to any young athlete looking to get better at their craft.
I know a lot of guys my age benefited from working out here. As we get older, workouts get easier and we get softer. When you come to PSTS, they control the tempo and push you hard. All the guys here have big goals and want to get back in shape. It just helps to push you that much harder to achieve your goals.” – Brandon V.
“I was a little intimidated to start PSTS because of all the large athletes training there, but once I got accustomed to things, I was starting to feel better about myself. PSTS is more close knit than other facilities, it is a one-on-one type training setting but still within the group, and you really get to know all of the trainers and other members well. I can’t believe more people my age aren’t training here. I would recommend it to anyone; it makes you feel that much better. It has changed me for sure.” – Dustin H.
“I’ve worked out at almost every gym out there: Lifetime, LA fitness, 24/7, Snap Fitness, boutique gyms, etc. Nothing compares to PSTS. As a former high school (and 1 year of college) athlete, I still strive to stay healthy. You can stay healthy at the other gyms, but what separates PSTS from the others is you will not only stay healthy and get your body feeling the best it has in years, you will make GAINS. You will get stronger, gain muscle, and shed body fat.
When you no longer have a sport to train for, this can be very challenging. Not at PSTS. From the moment you step foot in there, you notice a difference. The atmosphere provides motivation. An intense, blue-collar feel. An opportunity to forget whatever was going on in the day- and just bust ass with some like-minded people, make progress, and not waste your time in the gym.
A gym with a good atmosphere and the right equipment is only as good as those working it. Hands down PSTS has the best coaches/trainers I’ve ever trained with. Mark Ehnis and his staff will push you. These guys are highly trained, extremely knowledgeable, and will ensure you focus on form before weight. If you’re not pushing yourself, they will notice and they will push you. Their goal is the same for everyone, regardless of age or reason for training: they want you to make gains. They want you to improve. They want you to be physically and mentally strong.
I now live in Arizona but make a point to workout at PSTS every time I’m home. I only wish Mark would open up a PSTS in Scottsdale and train a staff as competent as his current coaches, because my gyms out here do not compare!” – Joe C.
“Last fall I trained there with the Blue Collar Crew 3 nights per week and I could not believe the results. I got in the best shape I have been in since my days of college basketball. The training was challenging for not only young athletic guys like me, but also easily adjustable for the guys who were older and more limited. I loved the coaching of Mark and the team to never take shortcuts- and the motivation they provide to get me through the tough workouts.
The environment created in this place is also fantastic. It’s a great combination of athletic/health improvement and locker room friendship. Even when I have zero motivation to work out, once I get to the gym I am immediately motivated by everyone working hard to better themselves that I cannot help but get excited to “get after it.” It’s a place where I see young athletes excited to train and excited to keep coming back.
I am also impressed with Mark and the PSTS coaches on their knowledge of training and nutrition overall. I know they have spent countless hours researching and sifting through all the garbage out there in the fitness world to give good advice to anyone who needs some guidance. They’re professionals for a reason.
In a time where “Fad” workouts and trademarked training styles are taking over the fitness world, these guys have found the best way to get results with anyone at any level. Just take a look at the achievements of the large numbers of athletes and clients coming out of this gym, and it should be convincing enough. I will continue to recommend and train at PSTS for all these reasons. Thanks.”

“I trained incorrectly for years. Learning proper training techniques alongside some peers to keep me honest and accountable- I’ve made the most progress of my life. PSTS is constantly on their game. They have created a great family atmosphere and done so with integrity.”

“My first impression of PowerStrength was that it was going to be really intense. I didn’t think it would be a place for a girl to workout but I was wrong! I got to know some great girls who trained with me and we loved to work hard. PowerStrength is set apart by the knowledge the coaches bring to each session and the environment that you’re in. AT PSTS you’re surrounded by people who want to get results just like you and that’s pretty motivating.” – Becky C.
“When I first started PowerStrength I was a little nervous as I let myself get a little out of shape. Once I got serious about my diet, corrected my form, and listened to what my coaches were telling me I saw results within 2-weeks! The difference between PSTS and other training facilities for me was all based around my form and eating habits- I never knew how to train properly and I’ve been working out for years. PSTS is great for anyone who loves to get a great workout, break a sweat, and blow off some steam after a long workday.” – Leah S.
“6 weeks ago I had a goal in mind; to be the strongest I’ve ever been by my 28th birthday. In high school I was pretty fit. I was 175lbs and could max bench 235. I could max squat 285lbs. I could deadlift about the same as my squat from what I remember…10 years was a long time ago:) Anyways, I weighed in last night at 199lbs (+14lbs in three months). I benched 245×2 and needed a ‘tap’ to get me past 90 degrees at 255 after a couple prior sets. I squatted 335. Last week I deadlifted 315×5. I reached my goal of being the strongest I’ve ever been.
I’m proud of myself but I’m more proud of the guys that helped push me every week to get me to this point…a point I honestly didn’t think I was capable of so quickly. Keep in mind 6 weeks ago I could barely push up 225 on my bench and squatting 335 would not have ended well at all. The PSTS coach’s ability to push an individual the right way is incredible. PowerStrength has been proven time and time again…I am just another prime example. If you want to be a Lion, you must train like a Lion. Thank you gentlemen for the work you’ve put in to not only myself, but every person who walks through those doors with goals in mind. No doubt they will reach them under your supervision.” – Nick H.
