Grant Adloff doesn’t overthink his training. He shows up, trusts the program, and lets the results take care of themselves.
That approach has helped this 3-sport athlete from East Grand Rapids carry him from season to season, while earning a commitment to play football at Michigan State.

THE START
Grant first came to PowerStrength in the Spring of his sophomore year during his lacrosse season. Now with football on the clock, he’s training with a football-focused purpose as he enters his senior season for the Pioneers.
“It was a good way to monitor getting a really good lift in while in a sport, and doing things the right way to not get injured,” he said about his start at PowerStrength. “It was just a way to maximize my time, especially looking at the football aspect.”
TRAINING THROUGH THE SEASON
If you spend any time around Grant, it’s evident his work ethic and commitment are at a different level. It’s always challenging to manage a serious training program during a sports season, but Grant always makes his training a priority.

It’s an example a lot of younger athletes can take note of.
“I’d get right out of school, come straight here for the 3:00 Premier session, and then have practice at 5 or 6 — it was a lot to handle,” he said.
His approach to getting more serious about his training was obvious – and it paid off almost immediately.
“The numbers were extremely different from my past routines, doing it by myself at school. I could see a huge difference.”
RESULTS: POWER, QUICKNESS, AND CONTROL
The gains showed up in specific, measurable ways.
“Drive quickness, and then just overall power on the field,” Grant said. “And I’d say the control I had over my body as well — I wasn’t all loosey goosey.”
Heading into summer camp season, the difference was even clearer.
“I was a lot quicker on my feet right off the get-go, and a lot more powerful on my first two steps — that’s key for linemen. Going into camp season, I was very happy that I came to PowerStrength.”

THE PROOF ON THE FIELD
For Grant, one specific play made it real.
“There was a play against Coopersville where my center and I popped this guy — and right there, I was like, wow, all that stuff kind of paid off.”
THE PREMIER ADVANTAGE
Grant credits both the coaching and the caliber of athletes training alongside him in PowerStrength’s Premier Advanced Training Program.
“If I don’t get the right number of reps, they’ll say, ‘hey, one more.’ If I can put more weight on, they’ll tell me — that’s helped a lot, just keeping me in check,” he said.
He also points to the environment itself, which plays a big part in that.
“I really liked the group of guys that were there — everyone pushing each other, going for competition, being with the right group of people helped a lot.”
CROSSOVER TO BASKETBALL
The training and his results didn’t just help his football, it was making him a better overall athlete and it carried over into basketball season.
“Vertically, I felt a lot more power, a lot more control — down low, up in my hips,” he said.

He’d flirted with dunking before, without much consistency, but that’s no longer the case.
“I got a few dunks during practice. I’d gotten close before, but I could never get up there consistently — now I can.”
BUILDING THE RIGHT ATHLETIC BODY
Maintaining size through a demanding lacrosse season is difficult for most linemen. Grant noticed something different happening with his body.
“What I noticed was, as my fat was going down, my muscle was regaining,” he said.
Even as lacrosse was burning off weight, PowerStrength was helping him replace it with muscle rather than simply losing size.
“I think PowerStrength was just putting on that muscle while I was losing fat from lacrosse.”
DON’T OVERTHINK IT
Ask Grant what he’d tell someone considering PowerStrength, and his answer centers on one thing: not having to overthink it.
“I see a lot of people who think too hard about how they lift — friends training on their own, asking what split they should do, all these little things,” he said. “But when you come to PowerStrength, you kind of just shut all that off. That’s what I like the most — I didn’t have to think too much, all I had to do was just put in the work.”

In an age where too many athletes are stressing out and overthinking, Grant’s advice is truer than ever before. And it’s a key trait he has that will help him continue to be successful at a higher level.
HEADED TO MICHIGAN STATE
Grant is committed to play football at Michigan State, a decision shaped by the coaching staff, the location, and family ties.
“The coaches were probably the most down-to-earth, from my experience,” he said. “Also close to home, my sister goes there too — I have a lot of faith in what’s going to happen in the future.”
He expects to play on the interior of the offensive line at the next level.

Grant feels ready for his senior season and looking ahead to the jump to college.
“I know I’m going to be ready, and I know I’m going to be prepared,” he said. “I’m more excited now that I know what I’m going into.”
ADVICE TO THE NEXT ATHLETE
Grant’s advice to anyone considering PowerStrength is simple.
“All they have to do is just trust the program, meet new people, and I think they’ll have a blast.”
