Almost a year ago, Taliya Dauser came to PowerStrength as a sophomore looking to get stronger.
Since then, the Sparta softball Junior has added real power to her hitting and pitching — and just as importantly, grown into a leader both on the field and off it.
THE START
Taliya’s decision to train came from a wave of recommendations she couldn’t ignore.
“I wanted to get more strength overall,” she said. “I’d heard so many good things about PowerStrength — people from my high school, people from my travel team, other people. It just made me want to come.”
The first impression matched the reputation.
“It was such a cool environment. I felt so welcomed right when I stepped in — everyone was like, ‘hi, my name is this, welcome.’ It just looked like a really good environment.”
THE ON-FIELD RESULTS
The strength Taliya has built in the weight room has translated directly to her performance in the circle and in the batter’s box.
“My hitting is so much stronger — the ball goes farther,” she said. “Pitching is so much stronger. My velocity has gone up, my legs are stronger, I can push harder, my core is stronger — it keeps me tight all the way through.”

Even with high expectations going in, the results have exceeded what she anticipated.
“I kind of knew what to expect coming here, but I didn’t think it would be this good,” she said.
THE LEADERSHIP SHIFT
Beyond the physical gains, Taliya points to a mental and leadership shift as one of the most significant parts of her time at PowerStrength.
“The trainers push me so hard — they make me want to have such a good mentality, in here, on the field, and everywhere,” she said. “It makes me want to push myself even more, and push my friends too.”
That mentality has reshaped how she sees her role on her teams.
“I’ve always been somewhat of a leader, but coming here, they’re always telling me I should be the leader,” she said. “That made me want to be more of one — and it made me want to help everyone else too.”
THE ENVIRONMENT
For Taliya, training alongside other committed athletes has been a key part of what keeps her pushing.
“Being with the same people around you, seeing people with the same drive pushing themselves — it really makes you want to work out and do good,” she said. “Most of the athletes that come here are really serious about their sport. They’re here for a reason.”

PLAYING FOR THE NEXT LEVEL
With her sights set on playing softball in college, Taliya sees her training as the foundation for that goal.
“I know I’m going to get stronger, so I can feel better about going to college,” she said. “I can push myself more to get to college — it’s kind of a base for it.”
MAKING IT WORK
Between softball, school, and a packed schedule, Taliya has made training a non-negotiable part of her week.
“I just try to find whatever time in the day, even if I just have to come in whenever,” she said. “Even with softball, I try to find a time a few days before — I always find a way to make it work, because I actually want to come here.”

HER ADVICE
Ask Taliya what she’d tell another athlete considering PowerStrength, and her answer is direct.
“I would say yes, you should definitely come — it’s such a great environment,” she said. “All the trainers are so nice, they push you, and it’s really fun.”
She also believes strength training deserves more credit in softball than it typically gets.
“Not everyone realizes it’s way better to build your body stronger. You can definitely tell when someone has more strength — they hit harder, and you’re like, wow, she’s strong.”

Asked to sum up what PowerStrength has meant to her, Taliya’s answer was simple.
“PowerStrength is a welcoming place,” she said. “The trainers are always here for you, always here to push you — and they’re really good.”
