Since November 2024, when PowerStrength opened its Holland location, twin sisters Kenzie and Madi Glupker have been all-in on their training.
As eighth-grade athletes at Hamilton Middle School, the Glupker twins balance a full schedule of volleyball, spring sports, and school while making serious athletic gains.
Their journey at PowerStrength has already made a huge impact, setting them up for success in both their club and school sports.
COMMITTED TO GROWTH
Madi, who plays volleyball and soccer, and Kenzie, who competes in volleyball and track, joined PowerStrength with shared goals: jump higher, get stronger, and become more explosive in their sports. The results speak for themselves.
“I’ve noticed that I’ve gotten a lot stronger and can jump higher, especially playing volleyball,” Madi shared.
Kenzie echoed the sentiment, adding, “I can jump higher, and I can do a lot more push-ups than I could before. I feel a lot stronger.”
TRANSLATING TO THE COURT
Kenzie and Madi have been competing in their club volleyball season while training at PowerStrength the last few months. They immediately felt an impact on the court.
“I notice that I can jump higher, and my arm swing has gotten a lot stronger,” Kenzie said.
Madi has seen similar improvements. “I’ve noticed I’m quicker on defense to get to the ball and that I can jump higher when I’m blocking,” she said.
Their hard work is paying off—they were both moved up to the 15 Premier team as 14-year-olds, playing against older and stronger competition. Their goal for next season is to make the top 16 team and continue pushing their limits.
Training at PowerStrength, improving speed and shot versatility, and feeling stronger on the court is setting them up to reach their goals.
“It’s definitely helped me be faster with transition for my hits, and being able to hit all the different shots,” Kenzie said. “When I’m like blocking, if someone hits it really hard, usually it hurts my shoulder, but I got a lot stronger and it’s just easier to do a lot of stuff.”
SETTING SIGHTS ON HIGH SCHOOL SUCCESS
As they prepare for their freshman year at Hamilton High School, the twins have their eyes on the next challenge: making an impact on their school teams.
“Playing on junior varsity or varsity is my goal for my freshman year,” Madi said.
Kenzie agreed, adding, “My top goal is varsity, but I’m just hoping to get on JV, to keep working for it, keep getting stronger and jumping higher.”
Kenzi has a goal to play volleyball in college and she feels like training at PowerStrength is helping her earn that opportunity.
SPRING SPORTS & SPEED GAINS
The training at PowerStrength isn’t just benefiting their volleyball careers—it’s setting them up for success in their spring sports.
For Madi, that means becoming faster and stronger for soccer.
“I hope for soccer, I get a lot faster so I can be quicker on the field, and my legs to get stronger so I can kick farther,” she said.
Kenzie’s goal is to improve in track and field.
“I hope to be faster for track and then be able to jump higher and further for the high jump,” she said.
Both have already seen measurable improvements in their speed and acceleration.
“I feel like I’m faster now. My acceleration is better, and I can speed up quicker,” Kenzie said.
Madi noticed her endurance and speed have improved as well.
“In gym class, we were doing a 10-minute run, and I’ve been able to do it in a faster time than last year.”
CONFIDENCE & CAMARADERIE AT POWERSTRENGTH
One of the biggest takeaways from their training isn’t just their physical gains—it’s their newfound confidence.
“I feel a lot better, and my body feels a lot stronger, a lot more healthy, and a lot more in shape,” Kenzie said.
Madi added, “I feel like my confidence has gained a lot because before I was scared for lifting class in high school because I didn’t know how much I was going to lift, but now I feel a lot more confident about all that stuff.”
Training at PowerStrength has also introduced them to a community of dedicated athletes—many of them older.
While training alongside high school athletes might seem intimidating, Madi and Kenzi have embraced it.
“It’s better because then you push yourself more because they’re at a different level than you,” Madi said.
“I’m not as scared as I thought I would be training with older people, but just helps you get to your full potential,” Kenzie added.
THE POWERSTRENGTH DIFFERENCE
For the Glupker twins, the expert coaching, personalized training, and competitive environment at PowerStrength have been game-changers.
“The coaches are really supportive when you’re doing really good, and they give really good tips and stuff to help you want to be better and push yourself,” Madi said.
“They all connect with you, so they have personal connections with you and actually talk to you about stuff that’s going on in your life and just make it fun,” Kenzie added.
Looking ahead, the twins are determined to keep improving.
“I hope that my confidence keeps growing and I keep getting stronger and faster and just keep pushing myself,” Madi said.
Kenzie agreed, “I hope that I can get stronger, faster, increase my vertical, and just keep going up.”
Their message to other young athletes thinking about training at PowerStrength is to do it.
“It helps you get stronger and faster, but it’s also super fun with everyone here, and you all have a good time, even though you’re still working really hard,” Madi said.
Kenzie added, “It’s super beneficial—you see results pretty quickly.”
BUILDING THE FUTURE OF HOLLAND AREA ATHLETES
As PowerStrength’s Holland location continues to grow, Kenzie and Madi Glupker are proof of what’s possible for local athletes who commit to training.
Their early success is just the beginning, and they are setting the standard for young athletes in the area looking to take their game to the next level.
Whether you’re a middle school athlete like the Glupker twins or a high schooler aiming for varsity, PowerStrength’s training programs are built to help athletes jump higher, get stronger, and gain confidence—on and off the court.
The question is: Are you ready to put in the work?
