With the Winter sports season over in West Michigan, PowerStrength athletes made their presence felt from the wrestling mat – to the pool – to the court – to the gymnastics floor.
40 PowerStrength athletes earned postseason recognition across five sports — basketball, wrestling, swimming, gymnastics, and cheer. The quality of these individual performances this Winter was outstanding.
State champions. All-State honorees. A gymnast standing alone on top of the vault podium. A wrestler who didn’t lose a single match all season. It was a strong winter of high performance, representing a lot of effort and dedication!
28 PowerStrength athletes earned All-Conference Basketball honors this Winter.
Read below for more highlights of these standout performances.
BIG MOMENTS FROM THE WINTER SEASON
Brody Compau, Rockford — Wrestling
Brody Compau didn’t just have a good season. He had a perfect one (54-0). As a Freshman, he went undefeated and won a State Championship on the wrestling mat this Winter — an extraordinary achievement at any age, but especially for a Freshman just getting started. Remember this name.

Lillian Green, Rockford — Gymnastics
Lillian Green climbed to the top of the podium this Winter, winning a State Championship in Vault. The Junior has been putting in the work, and this Winter it paid off in the biggest way possible.
Oliver Ottenwess, Grandville — Swimming
Oliver Ottenwess backed up his Fall water polo All-State season with a dominant Winter in the pool, earning All-Conference honors and winning a State Championship in the 100-meter butterfly. A two-season standout who keeps raising his own bar.
Easton Wright, Rockford — Wrestling
Easton Wright earned All-State honors on the mat this Winter, finishing 3rd at the individual State Finals, and continuing to establish herself as one of the top wrestlers in the area. A strong performance from a Senior heading into the next chapter.
Liam Fitzpatrick, Rockford — Wrestling
Liam Fitzpatrick also earned All-State recognition this Winter, with a 55-4 record and a 5th place finish at the individual State Finals. Liam also earned All-Conference honors along the way.
Murphy Lengkeek, Fruitport — Wrestling
Murphy Lengkeek is just getting started. The Freshman earned both All-Conference and All-State honors this Winter — finishing 3rd at the individual State Finals.
Frannie Keeley, Jenison — Cheer
Frannie Keeley had one of the most complete postseason résumés of any Winter athlete on this list — earning All-Conference, All-District, and All-Region honors in cheer. A three-level sweep that reflects the kind of commitment and performance that PowerStrength athletes bring to every arena they compete in.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
Many of these athletes have been investing in their development at PowerStrength for years — and the results keep showing up when it matters most.
Kai VanderKodde, NorthPointe Christian Basketball All-Conference honoree and one of the most efficient shooters in his conference this Winter, has been training at PowerStrength since his Freshman year. He put it simply:
“Be ready to work. It’s going to be hard, but you’ll have fun, and the results are going to show.”
Addy Rhodes, Calvin Christian Basketball All-Conference honoree — and a four-year All-Conference selection — knows what consistent investment looks like from the inside:
“I think without PowerStrength, I wouldn’t be as strong as I am or able to do the things I can. It’s where I really push myself to go above and beyond, and it shows on the court.”

Bryce Backus, Caledonia Basketball All-Conference honoree, has been balancing a demanding athletic schedule while continuing to develop at PowerStrength:
“PowerStrength has helped me gain speed drastically. I lost a lot of fat when I first got here, and then I’ve gained so much muscle since.”
Read Bryce’s full feature here.
And Dexter Lillmars, Fruitport — one of the most talked-about underclassmen in the state after averaging 20.7 points per game as a Sophomore and earning All-Conference honors for the second straight season — is a reminder of what happens when young athletes commit to the process early:
“Confidence-wise, knowing that you’re working on getting more athletic in those areas that other people might not be doing.”

THE STANDARD
What connects every name on this list isn’t the sport they play or the school on their jersey. It’s the decision they made to invest in themselves, show up consistently, and do the work that most athletes their age won’t do.
That decision to improve as an athlete doesn’t guarantee a state championship or individual acknowledgement – but it does impact great possibilities.
Congratulations to these athletes on their effort and dedication that is paying off!
