Unity Christian offensive lineman Bryler Bosma has always had the heart, hustle, and work ethic. What he didn’t have—until now—was size.
A member of the Class of 2027, Bryler has played football for years and has always been one of the smaller athletes on the field. Even as an offensive lineman, he regularly battled against players who outweighed him by 100+ pounds. That didn’t stop him from competing, but it did make progress difficult.
After his sophomore year on the junior varsity team, Bryler knew something had to change if he was going to step onto the varsity field with confidence.
“I wanted to get bigger so I could actually play my junior season on varsity,” he said.
That’s when Bryler joined PowerStrength’s brand-new, state-of-the-art Holland facility, near his home.
With a goal of gaining weight and muscle, Bryler enrolled in PowerStrength’s Premier Advanced Training Program—and finally found the solution he had been searching for.

WHAT HE COULDN’T DO ANYWHERE ELSE, HE DID AT POWERSTRENGTH
Bryler had trained for years at other facilities, without meaningful muscle gain. At 155 pounds, he wasn’t seeing the transformation he needed.
“Even in middle school, everyone was always bigger than me,” Bryler said. “I thought I was eating a lot, but I really wasn’t. Coming here gave me a whole new perspective on how to actually get bigger.”
The progress is undeniable. After six months of focused training, he had added more than 30 pounds of lean muscle, going from 155 to 185 pounds—with two more months of training left before football season.
“When I see the before and after photos… it’s crazy. I went from a bony structure to actually looking like I’m big enough for football. It feels good.”
PROVEN METHODS
Bryler’s results didn’t come from tricks, fads, or extreme workouts. They came from simple, proven training methods backed by over 14 years of PowerStrength success.
“It’s nothing too crazy,” he said. “Just basic movements that work. They’re not complicated, and they don’t hurt your body—but you can feel them working.”
He wasn’t the only one surprised by the transformation. His parents, Kerri and Brent Bosma, were skeptical at first.
“When we did the parent meeting, they said they could help him gain 40 pounds by fall,” said Kerri. “My husband and I laughed. We’ve seen this kid burn more calories just sitting than most people do moving.”
“But they’ve proved it. No crazy supplements. Just focused training, recovery, and making sure he’s fueling properly. He’s really throwing the weight on.”
SIZE + SPEED
Even with the added mass, Bryler hasn’t lost a step.
“I saw my body fat going down and my muscle going up,” he said. “In the speed drills, I was actually getting faster.”
His dad agrees.
“You can tell physically—he’s getting stronger and bigger all around, from his legs to his arms and shoulders,” said Brent.
THE POWERSTRENGTH DIFFERENCE
After years of trying other training programs, PowerStrength finally gave Bryler the edge he needed—both physically and mentally.
“Back in December, I had no clue how I was going to play varsity football,” Bryler said. “Now I feel like I can play with ease and compete with anybody.”
“The biggest difference here is that the coaches actually push you. I thought they’d just give me a plan and let me go, but they care. They want you to get better.”
“If you want to get better, this is where you need to be.”
His mom agrees—and encourages other parents to explore PowerStrength, especially at the new Holland location.
“If you’re a parent wondering if the investment is worth it—take it from someone who’s driven to a lot of gyms over the years—it is,” said Kerri. “If your kid wants to improve, you won’t be disappointed.”
MORE MUSCLE, MORE CONFIDENCE
Bryler now walks into the gym, into the weight room, and onto the field with a new level of confidence—because he’s done the hard work and seen real results.
“I was working out one time and a freshman came up to me and said, ‘You’re looking pretty big now,’” Bryler said. “That felt good. You have that humble voice in your head… but you smile a little too.”
Now, he’s counting down the days until football season—fueled by belief in himself and the gains he’s made at PowerStrength.
“I feel a lot more confident. I feel like I could hop on the varsity field right now and compete with anybody,” Bryler said.
