As a Freshman at Spring Lake High School, Caelan Tracey is already doing something most athletes his age never experience—competing at both the junior varsity and varsity levels in a demanding football program.
That opportunity didn’t come by accident.
It came from intentional preparation, consistent training, and a commitment to developing his body and mindset the right way—early.
For the past year and a half, Caelan has been training at PowerStrength, where he has added measurable speed, power, explosiveness, strength, and confidence that are translating directly to the football field and setting the stage for long-term success.
“I wanted to come to PowerStrength to gain speed, power, explosiveness, and more confidence on the football field,” Caelan said.

A DIFFERENT STANDARD OF TRAINING
Like many motivated young athletes, Caelan was already working hard before stepping into PowerStrength. But it didn’t take long for him – and his family – to realize this environment was different.
“At PowerStrength, you have a trainer looking at you and trying to work on your muscles and the stuff that you need help with,” Caelan explained.
That individualized coaching stood out immediately during Caelan’s initial assessment, according to his father, Todd.
“They did 30 minutes with him, and then Brian (PowerStrength Regional Manager) came and sat down and talked to both of us,” Todd said. “He said, ‘You’re weak in your core. You’re weak in your lower back. You’re weak in your mid back.’ That told me a lot.”

The feedback was eye-opening – especially considering Caelan was already training extensively on his own.
What he needed was the expertise that PowerStrength’s certified coaches provide.
TRANSLATING TRAINING TO THE FIELD
Since committing to structured, fully coached training at PowerStrength, Caelan has seen clear changes—not just in the weight room, but where it matters most.
“I’ve seen major improvements in my speed, explosiveness, and confidence on the field,” he said. “It helped my explosiveness, power, and hitting.”
That progress showed up this Fall when Caelan earned time on both JV and Varsity as a Freshman, playing running back and linebacker.
“JV, he did outstanding,” Todd said. “Varsity was a level he can definitely play at. And I don’t think he would have been able to play at that high level without PowerStrength leading up to it.”
Todd, a former college football player at Grand Valley State, understands the demands of the next level—and the cost of poor preparation.
“When I played, it was eat everything you can, lift everything you can,” he said. “Standard back, chest, squat. And pretty much everyone I played with has some type of back injury now because we just didn’t know.”

What stood out to him about PowerStrength was the emphasis on full-body development and injury prevention.
“It’s not only about strength,” Todd said. “It’s a whole body. And it’s injury prevention too.”
THRIVING IN THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT
For Caelan, one of the biggest drivers of growth has been the environment itself.
“My favorite part about training at PowerStrength is definitely the environment here, and the trainers and athletes that I get to work with,” he said. “It just makes me want to work as hard as I can every day.”
That competitive atmosphere is amplified by Caelan’s involvement in Premier, PowerStrength’s most advanced training program designed for the most serious athletes.
Training alongside other serious athletes has raised his expectations – and his effort.
“It definitely pushes me to work as hard as I can,” Caelan said. “It encourages me to keep putting in the work and compete with them.”

Todd has seen how exposure to higher-level athletes fuels Caelan’s ambition.
“He got to train with Zak Ahern from Ferris State a couple of times,” Todd said. “That’s huge. It’s good for him to see that and think, ‘That guy is seven or eight years older than me. Think of what I could be.’”
CONFIDENCE THAT EXTENDS BEYOND FOOTBALL
The impact of training hasn’t been purely physical.
“It clears my mind whenever I train here and makes me feel really good,” Caelan said. “It makes me confident on the football field and in different aspects of life.”
That mental growth—learning how to push, how to be coached, and how to stay consistent—is something Todd believes will matter just as much as size or speed moving forward.
“At PowerStrength, the trainers know the kids,” Todd said. “They know how to push them. And understanding how much more you can push yourself—that’s going to be key to the next level.”

BRIGHT FUTURE
Caelan’s goals are clear.
He wants to play college football and beyond.
“You want your sons and daughters to be as fit as they can be and as healthy as they can be,” Todd said. “I think both are emphasized here. That’s going to give them and take them to whatever level they want to be and achieve.”
With a foundation built on smart training, expert coaching, and intentional development, Caelan Tracey is putting himself in position to chase that vision—one rep, one season, and one standard-raising step at a time.
