For many adults, fitness starts with good intentions—but finding a plan that actually fits real life is another story.
For Jason Fogelsonger, that search included home workouts, Peloton rides, and big-box gyms. Each offered something—but none delivered what he ultimately needed: efficient training, accountability, and results that carried beyond the gym.
That changed in June of 2025, when Jason committed to PowerStrength’s Personal Training Program for Adults in their 40s, 50s, and 60s—and hasn’t looked back.

WHEN “DOING SOMETHING” WASN’T ENOUGH
Like many adults, Jason tried to take matters into his own hands.
“My wife decided she wanted to buy a Peloton, so I started using that,” Jason said. “I’m just not really big on just the bike. It just wasn’t enough for me.”
He also went the traditional route.
“Everybody’s done the Planet Fitness thing,” he said. “That just turns into where you’re donating money every month.”

Even when he was consistent, the approach wasn’t sustainable.
“I would spend 2 to 3 hours a night in the gym trying to learn everything on my own,” Jason said. “I made gains, lost weight—but with what I do for a career, I can’t be in a gym 3 hours a night. I needed to get in and get out and know I was doing the best possible work within that time.”
Jason was familiar with PowerStrength through his son’s baseball experience with Sluggers, one of PowerStrength’s long-standing partners. When it became clear that his current routine wasn’t cutting it, he decided it was time to check it out.
A WAKE-UP CALL THAT SPARKED CHANGE
Efficiency wasn’t the only driver behind Jason’s decision.
“I’m not a spring chicken anymore,” he said. “I’m getting older, and all of a sudden I started having issues with high blood pressure. I’d never had that before—ever.”
That doctor’s visit changed everything.
“That was kind of a wake-up call to say, ‘Hey, we’ve got to do something different.’”
Jason wasn’t looking for a quick fix. He was looking for a solution that could support his health long-term—and give him confidence that he was moving in the right direction.
RESULTS THAT REIGNITED BELIEF
He went from spending 3 hours a night at the gym to 3 hours a week at PowerStrength.
What happened next surprised even Jason.
“I’m lifting more weight than I have ever lifted—even compared to when I was 18, 19, 20 years old,” he said. “I never would have thought I’d deadlift 340 pounds. Ever.”

That milestone didn’t just build strength—it built momentum.
“It got contagious,” Jason explained. “I showed myself that I could do it. Then it was, ‘Okay, how far can we push this?’ And it just snowballed.”
The structured programming, coaching, and progression removed the guesswork—and replaced it with confidence.
ACCOUNTABILITY, COMMUNITY, AND A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT
Jason credits his success to more than numbers on a barbell.
“One, it’s accountability. Two, the positive environment here,” he said. “That’s huge.”
Training alongside other adults at similar stages of life has only added to that experience.
“There are a couple guys here on the days I train, and we joke around and push each other,” Jason said. “It’s all positivity—‘You can do it. I’ve got you.’ That’s been huge.”
The certified coaches play an equally important role.
“The trainers are fantastic with their prep work,” Jason said. “If I come in and something’s bothering me, they can tailor the session, and I’ll still walk out exhausted.”

That preparation creates accountability Jason doesn’t take lightly.
“They’ve already prepped for me. They’re invested in me just as much as I’m investing in myself. You don’t want to let people down.”
STRONGER BODY, STRONGER MIND
While Jason originally came to PowerStrength for physical reasons, the mental benefits have been just as impactful.
“Mental and physical go together,” he said. “But what surprised me was that the physical side helped my mental side more than I expected.”
He’s noticed a shift in how he handles stress and daily challenges.
“Not worrying about things that are out of my control,” Jason said. “There’s no time or space for it—just move on.”
Even at home, the difference is noticeable.
“I told my wife just the other day—I’m in a really good spot mentally. And it’s probably been a minute since she’s heard me say that.”
And the health metrics followed.
“The last few times I’ve been to the doctor, my blood pressure has been right back to normal,” he said.

COMMITMENT THAT KEEPS PAYING OFF
Jason originally told himself he’d give PowerStrength 6 months.
“I gave myself 6 months, saw what I wanted to see—and it was positive. That’s what kept me going.”
Now, he’s focused on the next phase: continuing to improve his nutrition, pushing performance safely, and staying consistent.
“I honestly feel great,” Jason said. “Over the past couple months, especially, I’ve felt really good.”
A PLACE THAT FEELS DIFFERENT
When friends ask Jason about PowerStrength, his advice is simple.
“If you’re serious about what you want to do, you need to give it a shot,” he said. “Jump in with both feet and give it six months. You’ll thank me later.”

And when asked to sum it up?
“PowerStrength feels like a family-type atmosphere,” Jason said. “It’s refreshing.”
For adults navigating busy careers, changing bodies, and long-term health goals, Jason’s story is a reminder that the right environment—and the right support—can change everything.
At PowerStrength, progress isn’t just physical. It’s personal.
