Cassie and Chloe Greendyke have a unique bond that goes beyond the volleyball court. Both sisters play for Unity Christian—Cassie as a sophomore setter on the junior varsity team, and Chloe as a 7th-grade setter.
Their shared commitment to becoming stronger, faster, and more resilient athletes has only grown since they started training together at PowerStrength Training Systems, where they’ve made remarkable gains in strength, speed, and confidence.
Cassie, the older sister, began her PowerStrength journey first, and Chloe joined two months later, inspired by Cassie’s early results.
“Cassie really liked it, and she improved a lot, so I wanted to do that,” Chloe explained.
Both sisters have embraced strength training, showing intense dedication every time they step through PowerStrength’s doors.
ATHLETIC EXCELLENCE
Cassie and Chloe’s father, Chris Greendyke, initially sought out PowerStrength for injury prevention, recognizing the physical demands of volleyball and wanting to ensure his daughters’ bodies could handle the sport safely.
“I wanted to give them the opportunity to play and train, to train their bodies so they don’t get hurt, so they can continue to play,” Chris said.
Since starting, both sisters have seen measurable gains, especially in their endurance, power, and speed, and that has been evident in their play on the court this season.
“The quickness and confidence to get to the ball, just their overall performance and strength has improved, which I think just gives them the confidence,” Chris said. “The endurance is a big one for tournament days, so that’s definitely helped for the tournament time.”
Cassie can feel the difference.
“I feel that I’m such a better volleyball player than I was before I came to PowerStrength,” she said.
She even reached a major milestone, setting the female high school vertical jump record at PowerStrength’s Jenison location.
“My vertical jump has improved so much,” Cassie said. “I’m getting to the ball so much faster on the court, and I can do workouts with heavier weights.”
For Cassie, the impact goes beyond physical fitness. Her confidence has soared.
“PowerStrength has helped show me that I can do hard things,” she shared. “If I put in the hard work, effort, and commitment, then I can achieve my goals.”
Chloe, too, has felt her game elevate with each training session. From increased strength to faster reactions on the court, she has noticed a shift in her abilities.
“My legs are stronger, so I can get to the ball faster,” Chloe explained. “I’m more confident in serving and in all the positions.”
She even feels a mental edge over her opponents.
“When other people go up to serve, they’re so nervous,” she added. “It’s helped me stay positive and be a team leader.”
The Power of Sisterhood in Training
Training together has been a valuable experience for the sisters, who constantly push each other to reach new heights. Cassie introduced Chloe to the workouts before she even set foot in PowerStrength, demonstrating the exercises at home, and Chloe would mimic them to prepare.
Their father, Chris, sees how this friendly competition between the two has fostered a spirit of collaboration and resilience.
“They’re always at home competing to see who can jump higher or do the most jump boxes,” he said.
The teamwork they’ve developed at PowerStrength has carried over onto the volleyball court. Both sisters play club volleyball for Far Out, one of Michigan’s top programs, and each made the team they aspired to join.
Their strength training at PowerStrength has given them the endurance needed for grueling tournaments and the strength to handle intense plays.
For Cassie, the added stamina has made a huge difference.
“I can last in tournaments a long time, and I’m just playing really well.”
BUILDING MENTAL TOUGHNESS AND CONFIDENCE
Beyond the physical benefits, PowerStrength has also bolstered Cassie and Chloe’s mental game. Both girls have become more resilient and confident athletes.
“It helps me to stay positive,” Chloe said, noting that the coaches and environment at PowerStrength have created a supportive space where she can keep improving.
Cassie agrees, saying the trainers “make it fun for me” and always push her to be her best.
She’s felt this new mental toughness carry over to her volleyball performance, where her confidence on the court has skyrocketed.
Both sisters say they love PowerStrength’s energetic and encouraging environment.
“It’s so fun because everybody is here to improve on whatever they’re here for and to work for one goal,” Cassie said.
“The trainers push me to do harder weights,” Chloe added. “I wouldn’t think I could do that, so it just helps me.”
A PARENT’S PERSPECTIVE
Chris Greendyke recognizes the investment he’s made in his daughters’ athletic journeys but is fully convinced of its worth.
“It’s an investment in your children’s body, teaching them how to work out properly,” he said. “It’s strengthening their bodies so it’s an investment, but it’s an investment in your kids.”
He values the strength his daughters are building, knowing it will protect them from injuries and give them an edge as they progress in competitive volleyball.
As his daughters balance club volleyball, school, and intense training, Chris credits PowerStrength’s flexible schedule and personalized approach for helping them maintain a sustainable routine.
LOOKING FORWARD
As they continue on their volleyball journeys, Cassie and Chloe are more prepared than ever to face the competition.
“We’ll see what the future brings,” Chris said. “If they enjoy the sport, then hopefully this will give them the edge. As they get older, it gets more competitive, and they’re going to need to be in tip-top shape to be able to make those higher teams.”
Their work at PowerStrength has given them a strong foundation and has strengthened their family bond as well.
For now, they’re focused on continuing their development, on and off the court, gaining strength, resilience, and confidence with every session.
“To just be a better player and to grow stronger,” Chloe said about her goals at PowerStrength.
