At PowerStrength we help two types of College Athletes. Current college athletes find their edge even when they’re off-campus as they make their PowerStrength program their ‘home away from home’. Designed specifically for individuals seeking to maintain the intensity of their college weight room during breaks, we offer tailored programs and expert trainers to ensure peak performance year-round. This community of like-minded college athletes is the largest collection in West Michigan every summer, creating an unparalleled training environment.
Our College Athlete Program is also notorious for preparing high school seniors to enter their freshman year on campus in the best shape of their lives. With over 650+ scholarships earned and over 1,000+ trained, PowerStrength hosts the largest collection of local college-level athletes served since 2011. During your free assessment you will be taken through a full Athletic Performance Evaluation. Upon completion, we'll sit down and review exactly how you performed. We'll map out your success plan to achieve your goals and review which membership option would be best to help you get there.

Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we get asked by clients as they look to get started with us.
Who is this program for?
This program is specifically designed for current college athletes of all sports who want to be faster, stronger, pain-free, and be better for when they return to school. Our main goal of this program is to provide athletes a professional training environment that is an extension of their college programs.
When do sessions start?
You can start the program anytime and we have college athletes that train all year-round. Scheduling is determined by the time of year but our most popular college sessions are May through August, and over Holiday Breaks. All you need to do is set up your Free Assessment to get started!
What times do the workouts take place?
The College training sessions take place Monday thru Saturday. All sessions have a set start and end time, and are 100% coached. Exact times vary, but during the summer there are morning and evening sessions to accommodate athlete day jobs.
How long are the workouts?
Each training session is 55-minutes in length. Each session includes: a dynamic warm-up, speed & agility training, power development, strength training, and conditioning.
How many other athletes are in each session?
College sessions typically have 8-12 athletes per trainer in order to create an optimal session and keep high attention to detail for the best results.
How many sessions per week should an athlete come to?
Athletes should train at least 3 times per week. Most of our college athletes are in the gym 3-5 sessions per week during the summer. This consistency allows for the best results
Where are you located?
We have 5 conveniently located facilities in West Michigan.
Alpine – 919 Alpine Commerce Park NW on 4 Mile Road just west of Alpine
Plainfield – 5246 Plainfield Ave NE just west of Northland Drive
Kentwood – 5131 East Paris Ave SE near the corner of 52nd Street.
Jenison – 1308 Rosewood Street near the 12th Ave/Chicago Drive intersection.
Holland – 779 96th Ave on the corner of Adams and 96th Ave
Does your program include nutrition coaching?
Yes! We will provide nutrition guidelines that will help instill good nutrition habits so you can fuel your body to be at your best. These were designed by our certified nutrition coach and are included in our College memberships. College athletes also have access to free InBody Analysis testing if they prefer.
Is PowerStrength a Franchise?
No, PowerStrength is not a franchise and it is 100% locally owned and operated. Our Founder and Owner, Mark Ehnis, started PowerStrength in 2011 right here in West Michigan and it has grown into what you see today.
Being family owned allows our team unlimited freedom to keep the needs and well-being of the clients at the center of our focus. Everything is based around quality service to our local communities.
